Mothers and Children Multisectoral Development Organization (MCMDO)

“Our partnership with humedica, which began in 2021, has been instrumental in addressing critical needs in Ethiopia. Together, we’ve launched impactful projects like the ‘Locally Based Health Care for Women and Children’ initiative in Afar, providing essential healthcare to underserved pastoralist communities. During the 2021 conflict in Tigray, we were among the first to respond with life-saving support through the ‘Emergency Nutrition Response,’ which helped malnourished children and women. humedica’s commitment to improving lives has made a significant difference. humedica has proven to be a steadfast partner since 2021, and we look forward to continuing this meaningful collaboration to bring positive change and development to Ethiopia.”

Nexus Ethiopia

“Working with humedica International has been an incredible experience for Nexus Ethiopia. Through their grant, we were able to implement the Integrated Health Response for SGBV Survivors project in Adwa Woreda, Tigray, during 2023-2024. This partnership allowed us to make a profound impact on the lives of survivors and strengthen community resilience. One of the most powerful aspects of this collaboration was community engagement. We identified and equipped key community members and volunteers to support project delivery while maintaining confidentiality and addressing the sensitive nature of SGBV responses.

The health response was transformative. Professional psychological support enabled us to identify survivors who had previously been overlooked, and we ensured that knowledge transfer sessions equipped local facility providers to sustain Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services. Additionally, survivors—including those affected by fistula—received reimbursements for medical expenses and referral fees, allowing them to access essential care without delay. With humedica’s support, we also delivered essential supplies and equipment to three health centers, ensuring seamless healthcare delivery. Capacity building and advocacy played a crucial role in our approach, as we trained health workers on case management and fistula identification while conducting mass awareness campaigns through IEC materials.

humedica’s dedication to empowering local partners has been invaluable in driving sustainable change. We look forward to continuing this impactful collaboration.”

Organization for Welfare and Development in Action (OWDA)

“Partnering with humedica has been a transformative experience for OWDA. Since February 2022, we have worked together on the Structural Strengthening of Healthcare in the Somali Region project, focused on enhancing healthcare access in Dollo-Ado and Bokolmayo districts.

Thanks to humedica’s unwavering support, we have made substantial progress in building a more reliable and coordinated healthcare system. From strengthening service quality through effective supervision to equipping health facilities with skilled staff and essential resources, the project has truly empowered local health systems. One of the most impactful aspects has been the improvement in logistics and health data management, ensuring that healthcare services are both efficient and sustainable. These efforts have greatly benefited local communities and refugees alike, creating lasting change in the districts we serve.

humedica’s commitment to building local capacity and supporting holistic health solutions has been invaluable to our mission. We are grateful for this partnership and look forward to continuing our impactful work together.”
